LanguageCert ESOL for Schools A2

Written (Listening, Reading, Writing) and Spoken (Speaking) exams in English, aligned to the A2 level of the CEFR*. Exams are delivered through our global network of Test Centres.

About LanguageCert International ESOL A2:

• Leads to two separate certificates: Written and Spoken

Both exams can be taken together or independently of each other

Written exam:

• Paper-based or computer-based at approved Test Centres

Duration 1 hour 40 minutes

Spoken exam:

• Face-to-face

• Duration 9 minutes

At A2 level, candidates can:

• use everyday language and expressions related to personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment etc.

Compréhension orale

Partie 1 : 7 questions à choix  multiples (chacune  avec 3 options)
Tâche :  écouter deux fois pour faire correspondre 7 phrases courtes à des lettres, mots, graphiques et symboles

Partie 2 : 7 questions à choix  multiples  ( chacune avec 3 options)
Tâche :  écouter deux fois pour choisir la meilleure réponse à 7 phrases courtes

Partie 3 : 6 questions à choix multiples  (chacune  avec 3 options)
Tâche :  écoutez deux fois 6 conversations courtes entre 2 intervenants pour identifier : sujet, but, contexte, intervenants, essence, relation entre les intervenants, fonctions, attitudes, ressenti et opinions

Partie 4 : 6 questions (un formulaire avec 6 intitulés)
Tâche :  Écouter deux fois une personne parler pour identifier des informations spécifiques. Noter des réponses de 1 à 3 mots

Compréhension écrite

Partie 1 : 6 questions à choix  multiples ( chacune avec 3 options)
Tâche :  choisir l'option à choix multiples correcte pour combler les lacunes

Partie 2 : 6 questions à choix multiples (remplir un texte incomplet, 1 option est un piège)
Tâche : choisir les bonnes options pour combler les lacunes dans le texte

Partie 3 : 7 questions à choix  multiples ( chacune avec 3 options)
Tâche :  choisir le texte correct pour la question correspondante

Partie 4 : 7 questions à choix multiples (chacune avec 3 options)
Tâche :  choisir la bonne option à choix multiples pour l'énoncé correspondant

Expression écrite

Partie 1 : 30 à 50 mots (communiquer des idées ou des informations de base)
Tâche : rédiger une lettre sur un sujet donné

Partie 2 : 30 à 50 mots (court texte pour un public visé)
Tâche : rédiger une lettre, une carte, une carte postale ou un message
Résultats, certificats et badges numériques

Attestation de résultat (SoR) et certificat électronique envoyés par e-mail ou par l'intermédiaire du Centre de test ;

  • 3 jours ouvrables pour les examens en ligne avec surveillance en direct à distance
  • 5 jours ouvrables pour les examens informatisés
