LANGUAGECERT ESOL for Schools B2

Written (Listening, Reading, Writing) and Spoken (Speaking) exams in English, aligned to the B2 level of the CEFR*. Exams are delivered through our global network of Test Centres.

About LANGUAGECERT International ESOL B2:

• Leads to two separate certificates: Written and Spoken

Both exams can be taken together or independently of each other

Written exam:

• Paper-based/computer-based at approved Test Centres

Duration 2 hours 40 minutes

Spoken exam:

• Face-to-face

• Duration 13 minutes

At B2 level, candidates can:

• communicate in detail, travel, live and work independently in an English-speaking country

• spontaneously interact with a degree of fluency without much strain on either party

• follow the news, TV and radio channels

• write emails, texts, letters, reports and stories etc.

 

*Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), developed by the Council of Europe, is widely used to describe levels of language proficiency.

Partie 1 : 7 questions à choix  multiples ( chacune avec 3 options)
Tâche :  • Écoutez deux fois 7 conversations inachevées entre 2 intervenants

  • 1 conversation formelle  

Partie 2 : 6 questions à choix multiples  (chacune  avec 3 options)
Tâche  : • Écoutez deux fois trois conversations, chacune comprenant 2 intervenants pour identifier : sujet, but, essence, intervenants, registre, relation entre les intervenants, rôles, fonctions, attitudes, ressenti et opinions

  • Choisissez la réponse appropriée pour compléter ou continuer chaque question

Partie 3 : 7 questions (écrivez des notes sur le bloc-notes en fonction des informations contenues dans l'enregistrement)
Tâche  : • Écoutez deux fois une émission de radio, un récit, une présentation, etc. pour identifier des informations spécifiques

  • Notez les réponses de 1 à 5 mots  

Partie 4 :  6 questions à choix multiples  (chacune  avec 3 options)
Tâche :  • Écoutez deux fois une discussion pour identifier les grandes lignes, les exemples, les faits, l'opinion, le contraste, l'objectif, les idées clés, l'attitude, la cause et l'effet

  • Choisissez la réponse appropriée pour chaque question

Compréhension écrite

Partie 1 : 6 questions à choix multiples  (chacune  avec 3 options)
Tâche :  • 1 texte long : actualité, article, révision ou proposition

  • Choisissez la réponse appropriée pour chaque question

Partie 2 :  6 options à choix multiples pour remplir un texte incomplet (1 est un élément de distraction)
Tâche :  • Un texte duquel 6 phrases ont été retirées, par ex. phrase thématique, phrase récapitulative, développement d'une idée, mise en avant d'un point, opinion, contraste, séquence, référence antérieure et postérieure, transition vers une nouvelle idée

  • Choisissez la phrase appropriée pour chaque lacune dans le texte

Partie 3 : 7 questions (4 textes fournissent les réponses à chaque question)
Tâche :  • Lisez les 4 textes courts, p. ex. e-mail, article, publicité, etc. et choisissez le texte qui répond à la question

Partie 4 : 7 questions (nécessitant des réponses brèves de 5 mots maximum)
Tâche :  • Texte continu: descriptif, descriptif, explicatif, déclaratif, biographique, instructif

Expression écrite

Partie 1 : 100 - 150 mots (produire une réponse formelle pour un public visé)
Tâche :  • Répondre de manière appropriée au lecteur visé en utilisant un nombre clairement défini de points de contenu

Partie 2 : 150 - 200 mots (rédiger une lettre personnelle, une composition/histoire narrative ou une composition descriptive)
Tâche :  • Produire un écrit informel pour un lecteur spécifique sur un sujet général qui ne nécessite pas de connaissances spécialisées mais qui aborde un nombre clairement défini de points de contenu
Résultats, certificats et badges numériques

Attestation de résultat (SoR) et certificat électronique envoyés par e-mail ou par l'intermédiaire du Centre de tests ;

  • 3 jours ouvrables pour les examens en ligne avec surveillance en direct à distance
  • 5 jours ouvrables pour les examens informatisés
  • 10 jours ouvrables pour les examens papier

Les badges numériques sont disponibles dans un délai de 10 jours ouvrables et envoyés par e-mail.

Des certificats papier sont envoyés au candidat ou au centre de tests peu après la publication des résultats.
