Prospective LanguageCert Interlocutors should complete the following steps:
- Step 1: Familiarise oneself with the LanguageCert speaking exams -
Prospective Interlocutors need to study the Practice Papers and view the sample interviews of specimen materials.
- Step 2: Familiarise oneself with the LanguageCert speaking exams -
Prospective Interlocutors need to study the dedicated Guide for Interlocutors.
- Step 3: Watch a training webinar
The webinar explains in detail the Interlocutor’s role before, during, as well as after the speaking exam. The webinar can be paused and viewed again for as many times as desired.
- Step 4: Complete the Interlocutor Training Workbook
The Interlocutor Training Workbook is an auto-assessed quiz going over some of the most critical interlocution issues. Prospective Interlocutors get feedback on their responses and may re-take the quiz as many times as they wish.
- Step 5: Prepare, conduct, and submit a mock interview
Prospective Interlocutors should record and submit a mock interview and email the audio file of the recording to interlocutors@peoplecert.org. This recording will be used to assess their performance as an Interlocutor.
Prospective Interlocutors need to submit one exam recording, at any level (A1 – C2), regardless of the specific qualification: International ESOL, LTE, Academic/General. Please follow the links below for qualification-specific guidelines.
Prospective Interlocutors cannot be approved on SELT Speaking & Listening or Young Learners recordings.
