Your LanguageCert Account
It’s the first time I take an exam through LanguageCert. How do I register?
I already have a LanguageCert account. What do I need to do to register for my exam?
Click "Book Exam" on the test you are interested on the LanguageCert SELT website and follow the instructions. |
I cannot access my LanguageCert account. How do I reset my password?
What documentation do I need to book AND sit a SELT exam?
You must have a valid form of photographic ID, such as:
- A Passport
- EU ID card
- Valid Travel Document (this does not include Emergency Travel Documents)
- Biometric Residence Permits (BRP)
- Biometric Residence Card (BRC)
- Government ID card (only accepted in the country it was issued in)
You MUST ensure ALL your Candidate Profile details (names, date of birth, ID number, nationality) match identically to the details contained within the ID.
Please note, you MUST bring the SAME photo ID on exam day.
Important update on Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) and Biometric Residence Cards (BRCs):
UKVI is developing a digital immigration system and is replacing physical documents with an online record of an individual’s immigration status. This is known as an eVisa.
BRPs and BRCs are being replaced with eVisas. Currently, you cannot book a SELT test with us using an eVisa. We are working towards accepting eVisas in 2025.
If your BRP or BRC expires on or after 31 December 2024, you can still use it to book a SELT test with us. If you book your test using a BRP or BRC you must bring your expired BRP/BRC with you on the day of your test – If you do not, you will not be allowed to test.
A BRP/BRC that has expired prior to 31 December 2024 (for example, October or November 2024) will NOT be accepted to book a SELT test.
What happens if I have changed my name, and my name is different from the one on my identity document?
A test taker who has changed their name from the one in their identity document MUST PROVIDE ACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION IN THEIR NEW NAME. The following documents will NOT be accepted:
- marriage certificate
- UK spouse visa in a passport or a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
- original deed poll change of name document
Where a test taker does not have a valid identity document they should Contact the Home Office.
If a test taker has a previous gender (including a different name) that they do not want the test centre staff to see or for it to show on their test result, they should email sensitivebookings@homeoffice.gov.uk before booking the test.
