As of 1 January 2021, a new points-based immigration system will be introduced in the UK, applying to both EU and non-EU citizens. As a result, all EU citizens will need to take a Secure English Language Test (SELT) as proof of English language proficiency in order to live, work or study in the UK.
Depending on visa type, applicants will be required to take a 2-skills (Speaking & Listening) exam at CEFR levels A1, A2 or B1.
